Sexy Seersucker with New Look 6216


Hi Fam! Its me again!

Ugh since I am still having the vein issue I need to make more and more of my clothes.. Why because I can fit myself better than purchasing garments and altering.

So I made myself some cute drawstring Seersucker Red Pants!

How funny many years ago this was consider “candy stripe” fabric and now its cool to wear!

Forget what you heard I like them! The fabric is literally care free and extremely easy to sew! I made these pants in about two hours. Would be less if I had better practice with my new serger!

I did something a bit funky with the serger thread.. used two different colors because I knew I would cuff them. Plus I made a little longer for more cuff depth.

Pattern is New Look 6216
Pattern Description: 6216
Misses’ Knit Tops and Pants Misses’ easy knit top with scoop neck and short
all-in-one sleeves or higher neckline with 3/4 dolman sleeves and pull-on pants
with drawstring waist. Great for casual / weekend.
Pattern Sizing: 8

Did it look like the
photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes,
exact!
Were the instructions
easy to follow? Yes extremely good for a beginner!
What did you
particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Nothing

Pattern alterations
or any design changes you made: Yes, adjustments to the back crotch (added
three inches, lowered the front crotch by 3 inches, added length to the leg for
more roll depth.)
Would you sew it
again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes!
Conclusion: Great
pattern for the beginner will sew this again!

Salmon Tie Dye with Butterick 6050

Hola people! hope you are having a good week! I had a fabulous weekend wearing this amazing dress!
I spent about $9.00 on the fabric $1.99 for the pattern and about 2 hours of sewing time!

This is me trying it on for fit.. ignore the fizzy animal slippers and the mess on my head lol

Yeah there are a pile of clothes in the background.. Ignore them! I was trying things on lol!

Back view.. I could have pulled that elastic in a bit more!

Finished dress view in front of the National Harbor… what a beautiful carousel in the background that I took my Goddaughter to visit last year.. It was a lil gusty out there on Saturday lol

Here is the finished back view! Glad I put sleeves on this dress it was very windy and cold on the boat!
And they had the AC on full blast on in the enclosed portion! All of that provided for a bit of Marilyn Monroe action happening lol

back, I should had did more adjustment with the elastic back. I cut a 10 on the
top and a 14 on the bottom, which was more than generous! I should have
extended the length just one inch since it’s a flowy dress the wind assist with
a little Marilyn Monroe Action!
Would you sew it
again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and yes!
Conclusion: Great
pattern for the beginner I will sew this again!

Perfect Stripes with McCalls 6086

Hey again!

Here is a jumpsuit I make a few weeks ago but didn’t have the perfect occasion to wear it! Well we went to an improv Brunch at the Beacon yesterday and I needed something quick! Boom! Add some fats and a tried and true BCBG clutch and its on an popping!

I got so many complements on this! I did not purchase quite enough knit because of the odd matching but it seemed to work out OK, and it was well liked by quite a few 🙂

Unfortunately this shows a bit more junk in the truck that it should lol

No alterations were done except the extreme matching and I added the tie to this view.  Fabric is from the
G Street $2.97 Table..

Pretty Polka Dot Dress with Vogue 1395

Beautiful Morning in Downtown Silver Spring! Thanks Brittney for the photoshoot 🙂

This is Vogue 1395 and the Fabric I used is from G Street! It was the last piece on the roll! Love love love the feel of this its a rayon with no stretch.. Its a nice sunny yellow with pink polka dots..
This was constructed a bit differently where you made an additional piece for the back with gathers at the top and it ties in the front.. It really didn’t take that long to sew but be mindful of the instructions as they can be confusing..
I made mine a tab bit longer than the pattern and the models.. Cause I just like it that way lol no fit problems.. I cut a 10 on the top and a 12 on the bottom and widened the hips :-9 I did not care for the lining for the skirt so I just omitted it.. 
By the way pay no attention to the massive ball on my head.. its the summer and its hot! lol I get a blow-out later!

Two Piece Jersey Vogue 8935

Well Summer is definitely upon us! Warm weather outside including humidity and its nippy inside.. so much so I have on long sleeves and a heater under my desk lol.  I have so many things I have sewn and not worn I though I would pull this out.  This pattern was so cute when it came out last year from Vogue! I then found the perfect fabric in one of my many NYC trips! The fabric is definitely not too bold and its definitely not plain!

This fabric was definitely a dream to sew very easy and very quick! Would I make another set.. yes as it was easy.. As long as I find the “perfect” fabric again. No alterations were made to this pattern.
