Dream Fit Bras are a Dream!

Hello blogger babies!

Recently, I was asked to do an #ad #promotion for Dream Fit Bras. Dream Fit bras have a size range that begins with size 38DD and goes to 46DDD depending on the style of the bra.

Dream Fit Bras Selection

Online they have a great selection of bras in a wide range minus the bells and whistles.  There is a good selection in the stores with Wal-Mart being the largest retailer.  I had a model friend try a few bras on and she admired the fit and she said it felt like a “dream” but she was not confident enough for me to photograph her for this blog post 🙁

Some of her quotes were; “Wow, this feels great,” “I don’t want to take it off,” and “I love how it looks under my shirt.”  Although, she did not her photograph taken she was happy to keep the bra I purchased for her for her time and consideration.

Dream Fit Bras Benefits

Dream Fit offers six different styles: Deep Plunge, Back Smoothing T-Shirt, Multi-Way Plunge, Convertible Balconette, Stretch Cotton Plunge, and Feather Light. Quite frankly, I wish the back smoothing version came in my size as sometimes you did need to smooth out a few little bulges LOL!

All of Dream Fit’s bras are made with five key factors that create a great fitting bra:

  1. Contour cups for superior breast shape and modesty;
  2. Deep neckline without sacrificing coverage;
  3. Wide bra straps to distribute weight evenly;
  4. Center gore lies flat against the breastbone for comfort; and
  5. A wider lower band provides the primary support.

Finally great fitting bras, for girls with curves and I have to say I am very happy that there is more  bra selection and with a price tag that won’t break the bank.. and guess what! There is a fabulous Giveaway for you! (4) women will win $250 Wal-Mart Gift cards and 10 other winners will receive a free bra of their choice! Just click the link to win!

DIY Aquazzura Like Pom Pom Sandals

For the past few seasons, pom pom sandals have been the rave! Luckily, it does not appear this rave will go away anytime soon! We.simply.love.them! They are a great addition to any wardrobe whether they are flats, mid-heel, or high heels.

Aquazzura was one of the first designers to re-introduce these to the fashion world followed by Sam Edelmen with a lower price. I purchased the Sam Edelman flats in the neutral color last season, here they are shown in a sailor blue.  I purchased them last year for $100 bucks and they were worth it.

This Spring, I looked at a pompom in a slightly higher heel and did not find quite what I was looking for without spending fabric money! So I thought, why couldn’t I do this myself? I mean I am the Do it Yourself Queen and all Queens must wear the crown proudly. I skimmed a few blogs and YouTube videos for the “DIY” versions and it is so super simple — just some glue and some pom poms! Follow the instructions below so you can have a pair as well!

Do it Yourself Instructions

Goop Adhesive
Pom Pom Any Size You Like any Color (I used primary colors)
Ann Taylor Pumps (Now Sold Out) similar here and here

How to Create the Pom Pom Sandal

You don’t have to prepare your shoe for anything special. The Goop glue adheres to just about any surface.  Make sure you have a damp cloth near by and some alcohol swabs as the glue may leave stray marks on the shoe or your hands. Dab some glue directly to the pompom or directly on the shoe and press down on the surface. You can do a random pattern or a color coordinated pattern.

It dries in no time. I did wait a few days before I wore the shoes or moved them as I did want it be completely dry. I also added different color pom poms to the tassel for extra flair!

Happy Mother’s Day!

For this project, I used two fabrics.  The fabric used is from A Fabric Place in Baltimore. The bottom layer of fabric is navy blue taffeta.  The top layer of fabric is an embroidered tulle with 3-D flowers in red, pink, and orange. When I saw this fabric a few weeks ago I had to have it. I also did a preview of this fabric on Instagram when Sewing Design School did a monthly photohop and asked us to post #fabrictoafraidtocut!

I generally do not have a fear to cut fabric, it’s fabric, I control it I won’t let it control me! The only part that I did have a slight fear of is wasting the precious petals of the fabric and or cutting it in the correct direction.  I used the larger group of petal pieces as they actually went across the grain of the fabric. The more cascading petals were near the end of the fabric on the left side of it. I have a good portion of pieces left over that I refuse to discard. Perhaps I will add them to a clutch or a cool T-shirt to add some flare!

Here are more photos!

As you can see I did not hem the tulle, it does not fray.  However, the placement of the petals are uneven throughout the fabric it was almost impossible to hem as I would remove a great deal of the petals!

Close up of the embroidery on the fabric!

The wind was really whipping after dinner yesterday I am pretty sure quite a few got a peep show downtown Baltimore as my niece took my photos..lol

Do you like my shoes?

I will provide more details on these later this week, they are a combination of a store-bought shoe and a do-it-yourself added accessory!

Backless Floral Dress McCalls 3673

Backless Floral Dress McCall’s 3673.  When I saw this dress and pattern on Beaute Jadore’s blog i knew I had to have it Vintage McCall’s 3673 I was lucky enough to find the pattern in my size on Amazon for a great price!

I held onto the pattern for a moment but knew I wanted to sew it for a girlfriends 60th Birthday party! However, while this looks cute on the pattern face and the fabric is trey adorable from GStreet.. It need modifications that I totally ignored. This dress has no darts in the bodice.. I really thought I could get away with this — NOT! If you are a D cup this pattern needs major altering. It needs bust darts and a self-bra as finding a totally backless bra for a D cup is close to impossible. If I had (which I generally do) think out such patterns ahead of time I would have consulted my bra making group on the direction for this.

I went on the hunt for the backless bra (insert rolly eyes here) — why don’t we have this — why!

I will not show the back its not attractive at all.. I don’t do photo embarrassment by any means..

As you can see no shape at all in the bodice.. Darts create a shape where there is none and allows for an attractive lift. *lesigh* but I still received lots of complements and that is a good thing!

As you can see “someone” totally forgot their mascara, I got a bit distracted while getting dressed  and was rushing to be on time for her red carpet entrance! We arrived just in time!

Ipsy February Glam Bag
Ipsy February Glam Bag

.. I finally received this adorable bag and a few cute samples that will fit right in my new Tory Burch York Tote. I think the samples were great but they were just not in my shade. I think that is one of the most disappointing things when I receive these kinds of promos. You answer a good deal of questions about shades and background yet you receive shades that do no match my complexion.  I will though look forward to receiving another glambag.. But if the shades stay the same I won’t continue 🙁

Silk Leopard Maxi Dress made with Vogue 8921

Hey Hey! Happy New Year!

Just made! Silk Leopard Dress Vogue 8921 – here is Vogue 8921 made with a Silk Jersey Fabric from Mood Fabrics and I knew it would be some sort of Maxi Dress.. I wore it on Thanksgiving and it was a huge hit with the family but my Grandmother was insistent on me shorting it and it was too long lol.  I digress Grandma “it should be long” LOL. I like it when it kisses the boot or show and you see just a peek, you do need to be careful though and have a hem that is longer than your heel height so it does not get caught and cause a disaster!

Maxi Dress Vogue 8921

This was quite an easy sew only 4 pieces that are easy to adjust.  The back called for a back zipper but it wasn’t
necessary so I omitted it.

The above shot I really love and it shows a great deal of detail on the dress and the jacket I made.

Leather Bolero

I never blogged about this leather bolero, but it was also made with McCall’s 7257.  I cut my own strips of leather and gathered them as well as made the puffs from some fur I had here.  I created one bound button hole although the pattern did not call for one. I generally look for leather skins no matter where I shop. I can’t stand pleather its hot, it does not breathe, and the sound of the swish swish just annoys me! These skins were great and I actually had more than I could use, I got these skins from New York.
